Databases
are available in a number of ways: on the Web, on CD-ROM, or on the
Library
network. Some are available only on certain workstations within the
Library. This
means that you follow different paths to each database. Library is the
best
source where you can get free access to the databases. Some of the
databases
can be used without getting membership but most of them need library
card. So
the 1st step is to get library card, in most cases it is
free for
the public libraries. If you are a researcher then get card with
academic
institution that you can get on very nominal charges.
Most
of the databases or libraries attach information how to use, but if you
are not
sure which one database can provide you required information or how to
use it,
the librarian at the Information Desk can help you decide which
database has
the most appropriate subject coverage and can tell you how to get
started.
